Zemer ("we", "us") provides a free Jewish music streaming app and this website, zemer.io. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell data, and the app works without an account.

Information we collect on this website

• Analytics: We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count page visits. It does not use cookies and does not collect personal information or track you across other sites.
• Contact form: If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, and message you choose to send. We use it only to respond to you.
• Contributor sign-in: Volunteers who help maintain the music catalog can sign in with Google. For those accounts we store the email address and account identifier provided by Google. Regular visitors and app users never need to sign in.

Information collected by the app

• The Zemer Android app does not require an account or registration.
• The app communicates with our servers and music sources to stream music and keep its catalog up to date.
• We count app downloads in aggregate; this does not identify you personally.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
• We do not show advertisements or use advertising trackers.
• We do not collect more information than we need to operate Zemer.

Third-party services

The website and app rely on a small number of service providers to function, including Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery), Google Firebase (catalog database and contributor sign-in), and Google Fonts. Each receives only the technical data needed to deliver its service.

Data retention and your rights

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. If you would like any information we hold about you corrected or deleted, contact us and we will take care of it.

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
